The airline will put a stop on its flights to three popular US destinations. This comes just months after resuming the routes last year.

British Airways is scrapping flight routes to Nashville, New Orleans, and Baltimore.

Flights to these destinations were cancelled due to Covid but resumed last year.

Now, the routes will be halted yet again until resuming in the spring.

Flights to Nashville and Baltimore will stop on January 17.

Meanwhile, flights to New Orleans will end on January 15.

All three routes are expected to return in April.

A spokesperson for British Airways said: “Like other airlines, due to the continuing coronavirus pandemic we are operating a reduced and dynamic schedule.

“We apologise to customers whose travel plans are disrupted.

“Where a customer’s flight is cancelled, we always contact them to offer options including a full refund.”

These routes are the latest to be cancelled by British Airways since December.

Last month, around 2,000 flights were scrapped by the airline until the end of March.

These included both domestic and long-haul routes to a variety of destinations, including Glasgow, Birmingham, and South Africa.

The Baltimore, New Orleans, and Nashville routes had only reopened for British travellers late last year, when the US finally lifted its 20-month ban.

The Baltimore route returned on November 19, followed by Nashville and New Orleans on December 9.

The rise in Covid cases around the world has meant a decline in flight bookings and has consequently led to routes once again being suspended.

British travellers will no longer be able to book flights to Nashville, New Orleans, and Baltimore until the spring.

Flights to New Orleans are expected to restart with four services a week from April 26.

Meanwhile, daily flights to Baltimore will resume on May 2, and Nashville on May 9.

British Airways has also axed other flights globally.

In Asia, the airline has put a stop to flights to Bangkok, Beijing Daxing, and Shanghai Pudong until October later this year.
