It has been understood that the Government in England has reportedly “expressed an interest in procuring all hotels within 90 minutes of airports”. This may suggest the Government could be looking to expand its already expansive list of countries on the quarantine list.
The travel industry has largely been brought to a halt over the last few months as restrictions on travel continue.
If the Government expands the list of hotel quarantine countries, summer holidays could be out of the question for Britons.
Today, the first travellers required to stay at quarantine hotels began to arrive in the UK.
British and Irish citizens who arrive in England after being in 33 “high risk” countries on the Government’s hotel quarantine list, now have to self-isolate at the hotels.
The list includes destinations such as Portugal, South Africa and Brazil.
