An incredible tequila train with an all-you-can-drink bar is offering a new luxury experience – and it looks incredible.
If you’re a fan of the Mexican spirit and have always wanted to go back in time for a romantic vintage train ride then it’s the perfect addition to your holiday.
The tequila train, formally called the Jose Cuervo Express, journeys between Guadalajara in Mexico and the community of Tequila.
The town was dubbed a Pueblo Magico (Magic Town) but the Mexican Secretariat of Tourism.
After being shut during the pandemic, the train started running again in December – and it debuted the Elite Experience.

The new Elite Wagon features a luxurious wood-panelled car with 37 passenger places though this is reduced to 24 under coronavirus restrictions.
This lets the staff maintain social distancing onboard.
There are stunning floor-to-ceiling windows which let you gaze out at the views of Mexico as you rumble towards your destination.
And, there are two lounge areas so you can read your book and enjoy a drink while feeling like Agatha Christie’s Poirot on a classy adventure.
Guests in the Elite class will be offered a new range of custom made cocktails plus access to the Premium Bar with Reserva de la Familia, Tequila Maestro Tequilero, Centenario, 1800, rum, vodka and whiskey.
In case you want more pure indulgence, the experience comes with an educational, three glass Reserve de la Familia tasting led by a tequila pro.
There are regional snacks available, on-board entertainment, a lottery game, a visit to the agave fields an even a trip to Latin America’s oldest distillery – Jose Cuervo’s La Rojena.
The distillery guide will be a virtual discussion with walk through until pandemic conditions are safe.
And, unlike some luxury train experiences you won’t need to shell out thousands for the experience.
The 11 hour journey costs $166 (£122) per person and begins at 9am in Guadalajara.
You can also choose from either a morning or sunset journey with the other leg being by bus.
The website of the train journey states: “Traveling by train is a wonderful experience, but if you want to live a completely memorable adventure, then you will love this new proposal from Jose Cuervo Express.
And, it claims you can take in the “impressive beauty of the landscape” from the “completely new comfortable spaces.”
There are cheaper service classes available starting from $114 (£83) which still include the open bar (minus the Reserve de la Familia) and snacks, an educational tasting, agave fields visit and Lotiera Mexican bingo!
While we Brits may be unable to travel at the moment this is definitely making our post-pandemic bucket list.
