World-renowned Aquatica Orlando announced it would be adding Florida’s first-ever dueling water slide, Riptide Race, in 2020.
The Riptide Race will measure 68-feet tall and take riders down side-by-side racing lanes at top speeds. Each raft holds two guests and the ride features low walls to ensure a full view of the competition.
As riders make their way through nearly 650 feet of indoor and outdoor sections, they will be racing against the other team of two. Guests must be at least 42 inches tall to enjoy the ride located on the north side of the park next to Banana Beach Cook Out.
“Riptide Race will offer a ride experience you won’t be able to get anywhere else in Florida,” Aquatica Orlando vice president David Heaton said in a statement. “Aquatica will be the first waterpark in the state to have a thrilling, and more importantly, dueling water slide.”
“Riptide Race is the perfect addition to our attraction portfolio, complementing what is already one of the most family-friendly waterslide lineups in Orlando,” Heaton continued.
Travelers who want to experience Riptide Race for themselves can invest in an Aquatica Annual Pass for as little as $9.25 per month through December 3. Members can receive benefits such as free parking, priority access to ride Riptide Race, in-park discounts and more.
