Couple accidentally show they’re swingers on holiday due to little-known symbol

A woman took to TikTok this week to share how she and her husband accidentally indicated they were swingers on holiday.

Linda and her husband were both wearing swimwear with a little known symbol that apparently lets people know you’re looking for some raunchy fun.

Unknowingly, the couple donned their outfits and were confused when people were being “extra nice”, reports The Mirror.

Posting on TikTok, the woman shared a photo montage of her husband and herself wearing swimwear covered in pineapples.

She claims to have done so because she "thought it was cute".

It seems that, for those in the know, wearing matching outfits with the fruit motif on it is a symbol to swingers showing they were up for some fun.

The symbol is apparently especially common on holidays like crusies.

The Cruise Mummy blog states: "On a cruise (and sometimes also on land) ‘pineapple’ is code for swinging or wife-swapping.

"If you see pineapple on a cruise ship door it means the people are up for meeting other couples for ‘adult fun’.

"If you see someone wearing an upside-down pineapple badge or pin, it means that they’re actively looking for a partner swap. "

Over on TikTok, plenty of keen swingers share their way of advertising they're up for some fun – from pineapple earrings to t-shirts.

Linda added: “Ooops, no one told me.” In the TikTok video.

Plus, it turns out wearing pineapples isn’t the only way to show you’re into partner swapping.

According to the Independent, if a pineapple is placed outside a home it can indicate that a swinger party is going on inside.

It appears Linda and her husband eventually worked out why people were "being extra nice" but the clip doesn't share how the couple be came aware.

Linda's video has racked up more than 4.3 million views in just four days with some viewers stunned at this inside information.

One comment read: “Let’s take pineapples back! Let swingers use something else."

While another added: “I feel like they should pick something a little more obscure, pineapple stuff is too cute.”

Gobsmacked Linda added that re “really wants” to know why the pineapple has been co-opted by the swinger community.
