Los del Rio celebrate 25 years of their hit Macarena storming the charts by becoming hosts on Airbnb – and they will teach guests the song’s iconic dance moves

  • The pop duo will welcome four guests for a two-night stay at an Andalusian villa that inspires their hit music 
  • The villa comes complete with ‘typical Andalusian patios and a swimming pool in a sun-drenched garden’ 
  • During their stay, guests will learn how to sing and dance to Macarena and take part in a cookery class  

It’s been 25 years since Los del Rio stormed the charts and sparked a dance craze with their smash-hit song Macarena.

And to celebrate, the Spanish pop duo are becoming Airbnb hosts and will welcome guests to an Andalusian villa that inspires their music.

The pair, Antonio Romero Monge and Rafael Ruiz Perdigones, will host four guests for a two-night stay at the property and share their top tips on how to sing and dance to their catchy hit.

The Airbnb listing says the villa has ‘typical Andalusian patios and a swimming pool in a sun-drenched garden’

According to Airbnb, the villa, close to the city of Dos Hermanas, comes complete with ‘typical Andalusian patios and a swimming pool in a sun-drenched garden’.

The listings site adds: ‘The villa will offer guests the opportunity to mingle with the living pop legends in a classical Sevillian setting.’

There is also access to a private karaoke room where guests ‘will become musicians while busting their favourite 90s dance moves’.

During their stay, the lucky guests will have access to classic Spanish guitars and ‘unique memorabilia owned by the duo’.

Booking for the two-night stay at the villa opens at 4pm CEST on June 28. The stay will take place over August 3 and 4, 2021

Los del Rio will also be hosting an exclusive online experience on Airbnb where they will cook, dance, sing and share behind the scenes insights from their 90s success

Guests will also take part in a virtual private class led by a local chef to learn how to cook traditional Andalusian meals.

And in addition, Airbnb says there will be an opportunity to join an ‘exclusive online lesson of Sevillanas, a typical Andalusian dance’.

Meanwhile, for Los del Rio fans around the world who are unable to travel to Spain, the pair will be hosting an exclusive online experience on Airbnb where they will cook, dance, sing and ‘share behind the scenes insights from their 90s success’. 

Booking for the two-night stay at the villa opens at 4pm CEST (3pm BST) on June 28 at airbnb.com/macarena. Bookings are on a first come, first served basis. It will be open to four guests for €25 a night (£21/$30) plus taxes and fees, in recognition of the 25 years since Macarena became a worldwide pop phenomenon. The stay will take place over August 3 and 4, 2021.

Airbnb says: ‘Interested guests should note that house rules are in strict adherence with local Covid-19 guidelines, and those who request to book should currently live in the same household to minimise risk.’

Meanwhile, bookings for the online experience will also open on June 28 at 4pm CEST (3pm BST) with the event taking place on August 3, 2021. It will be hosted for 10 guests only in English and Spanish.
