‘Prettiest’ village in the UK is like ‘walking into a picture postcard’

New research has found the UK’s “prettiest” village and tourists say it’s “like walking into a picture postcard”.

The expert team at Faraway Furniture found the most popular villages on Instagram to find the world’s prettiest.

While the prettiest village in the world is located in sunny Italy, a British village took fourteenth place on the list.

Bibury, one of the Cotswold top staycation destinations, was named the UK’s prettiest village and is less than two hours’ drive from central London.

The village is no stranger to accolades and was once described as the UK’s “most beautiful” by William Morris.

Bibury is home to Arlington Row, a charming street of mediveal buildings which were converted to weavers’ cottages in the 17th century.

They are now some of the UK’s most photographed houses and a huge reason why the village took such a high place in the ranking.

A tourist ‘Sm1ler’ wrote: “Arlington Row and the Bibury are as good as everyone says they are.

“Visiting really was like walking into a picture postcard. It’s a delightful area to walk through and Arlington Row is special.”

Another tourist ‘Jay B’ said: “This small row of cottages apparently represents some of the oldest structures in all of Southern England.

“They have been incredibly well preserved and are a joy to simply walk around and soak in the history.”
